URSULA ALTENBERGER

Until quite recently my life revolved round my children. During this time I have repeatedly made collages for their projects. Crafts and decorations have been my companions for a long time.
Through Facebook I came in contact with the project ||| Kunst trifft Wien ||| Art meets Vienna ||| this year. I personally met the artists whose marvellous paintings I admired on the site of the project at a meeting.
With the time my great wish was aroused to give myself a trial and I was amazed how well my first works have been taken.
I would like to give my heartfelt thanks here for the motivations of various kinds and also for the fact that through ||| Kunst trifft Wien ||| Art meets Vienna ||| I was in a position to detect a new side of mine which I was not aware of.
The beginnings of my painting are the results of various emotions and the wish to find a way of living with my sentiments. My works were primordially the attempt to express these feelings with the means of colour.
I wish to maintain this initial orientation also in the future, but in addition to experiment with various materials in my works to extend and to deepen my knowledge.
Tending to a preference of earthy colours has got to do with the fact that I feel attracted by the element earth.
What ever will happen in my paintings or to what style my way will lead me, time will show. And I take great pleasure in knowing that this secret one day will be disclosed.
