MARA BRAIDOTII

Hallo, everybody. My name is Mara Braidotti. I was born in Genova (Italy) on 4th December 1965.

Many of you will expect to read :" I studied figurative art at the Art Academy of... ", or " ...holder of a Diploma in Artistical Art Design...". No, not at all! In fact I'm a musician and music teacher.

"What a musician's got to do with paint?", you could ask: "A lot!", I'd answer.

Actually I don't remember myself playing any instrument, but drawing since I was a little girl. I had a Diploma in Fashion Design, but a don't care much about it.

I don't feel shame when I admit that I'm almost an "autodidact" artist.

I spent years and years trying to understand what a really wanted to do with my life and time.

Since 2001, when I had my very first art exhibition, I found myself thinking:"I feel I'm a painter!

A painter and nothing else!"                                                                                                              

A bit of encouragement, and the selling of a reasonable number of my oil paintings and watercolours, helped me to find my own way. At the beginnings a just paint for fun, for myself. Between colours and canvas

I was having a kind of "personal catharsis" moment. Recently, When a saw on web the huge number of artists from all over the world, and their art works, I decided to share my own art with each one of you. About what I put on canvas, my personal way to make art, I don't think there's much to say. Just watch what i did!

I dream in colours, not in black and white. My fantasy suggests me the themes step by step.

I hope you'll enjoy my way along this "complicated" path called ART.
